Bargaining Update - June 19, 2025

To our Valued Members of OPSEU/SEFPO Local 745,

We want to provide you with an important update on today's bargaining session with Bayshore management. Your dedicated bargaining team has been working tirelessly all day on your behalf.

We have managed to make some headway on a few non-monetary issues. However, we must be transparent and let you know that we are still a significant distance from reaching a comprehensive agreement. The process has been particularly slow, and we are encountering resistance from Bayshore management, who appear reluctant to acknowledge the historical agreements that have long been established here in Thunder Bay.

On another important note, Bayshore has recently brought on numerous new employees. Our local executives are actively working hard to connect with these new hires and get them signed up as union members.

This is where we need your help! Please encourage any new staff you encounter to sign their union cards. The more members we have, the stronger our collective voice becomes, and it ensures everyone receives these crucial updates.

Unfortunately, our next bargaining dates are not until July 11th and July 17th. We will continue to provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
